About me
I am a postdoctoral researcher with IIIA-CSIC, the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of the Spanish National Research Council in Bellaterra, Barcelona, Spain. My main research interests have always been related to music and machines. They include machine learning, time series analysis, computer audition, music information retrieval, and complex networks.
I was born in Riudarenes, Girona, Spain, in 1980. I obtained both the degrees of Telecommunications and Electronics at Enginyeria La Salle, Universitat Ramón Llull, Barcelona, Spain, in 2002 and 2004, respectively. After working from 2005 to 2006 at the research and development department of Music Intelligence Solutions Inc, I joined the Music Technology Group of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, where I received the MSc in Information and Communication Technologies in 2007 and the PhD in Computer Science in 2011. From 2006 to 2011 I was also an assistant and part-time associate professor with the Dept. of Information and Communication Technologies of the UPF. In 2010 I was a guest scientist at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden, and between 2011 and 2012 I did a research stay at the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science in Saarbrücken, both in Germany.
