I am a research scientist with Dolby Labs in Barcelona (since 2019). I work on deep learning and audio processing. I was born in Riudarenes, Girona (1980). I did my MSc (2007) and PhD (2011) in machine learning for audio at the Music Technology Group of Universitat Pompeu Fabra. I also did a postdoc in artificial intelligence at IIIA-CSIC (2011-2015). After that, I was a machine learning researcher at Telefónica R&D (2015-2019). I have had research stays at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (2010) and the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science (2011). I have been involved in more than 10 research projects, funded by National and European institutions, and co-authored over 100 publications, many of them highly-cited and in top-tier journals and conferences. I occasionally act as reviewer for some of those and other publications (provided they are free of charge), and give talks and lectures on subjects of my interest (lately basically related to deep learning).
