The next few days I'll be moving to the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Bellaterra. I'll start a 3-year postdoc position that I hope will be very fruitful and stimulating (not to mention that, for sure, I'll learn a lot!).
These years I've spent at the MTG-UPF have been fundamental in both my personal and professional development, and I'm really thankful to all the people that I've met in this exceptional research group and university. Since Bellaterra is very close to Barcelona I hope to keep the contact and collaborating with some them for a long time. So, colleagues and friends, see you soon!
This summer I received the very nice news that I had been awarded a price of the Board of Trustees of the UPF dedicated to promote the knowledge transfer within the members of the university. The price is in the category of recent PhD theses with big knowledge transfer potential ("Premi a la transferència de coneixement, en modalitat de tesi doctoral, del Consell Social de la UPF; àrea de Tecnolgies de la Informació i les Comunicacions"). The 2011 winners of the different modalities of the UPF Board of Trustees awards can be checked here. I'll pick up the award in September 27, at the inauguration of the new academic course. I'm really thankful to the UPF Board of Trustees and to Xavier Serra (my thesis supervisor) and Pedro Cano for their support to my application.
